This beauty presented to our clinic with the following:

✖️Severe upper arch crowding with no space for two buried canine teeth
.
✖️Severe lower arch crowding with her lower left canine fully excluded from the arch
.
✖️Midline discrepancy - the lower midline was significantly deviated to the left side
.
Due to the severe upper and lower arch crowding four premolar teeth were removed to make space, align her teeth, allow the buried teeth to come through and to correct the midlines 👊🏻
.
.
The result is a gorgeous SMILE 💫

Even with two upper premolar extractions we had to work really hard to fit these teeth into the arch 💥
.
.
One option was to remove the upper palatal positioned lateral incisors 🤔
.
.
HOWEVER we opted to remove the first premolars.
.
.
We moved the canines back into their correct position and then brought the lateral incisors out into the line of the arch ✨
.
.
Once the lateral incisors were aligned we then torqued out the roots of the lateral incisors which were palatally positioned ✨
.
.
Emma, our lovely patient and all the team are delighted with the result 🌟
.
.
Sometimes the easy option is not the right option and in this case the hard work paid off 👊🏻

= this occurs when two teeth swap positions and in this case the upper left canine was in the place of the upper left premolar ✖️

This in turn caused the upper left first premolar to rotate out towards the cheeks as there was no space for it ✖️

✖️ This was due to the two buried teeth which were going off course and leaning on the roots of her lateral incisors and causing them to flare forward and stick out - check out the low dose CBCT images!

✔️Space was made by extracting the baby teeth and two upper first premolars

✔️Lower braces went on first

✔️Gold chains were bonded to the buried teeth

✔️Elastics were used to start pulling down the buried teeth

Train track braces on the back of the teeth - nothing visible 🤫

This young man attended our office following an injury to his front teeth.
.

He had them temporarily repaired by his dentist ✔️
.

The bite was too deep and there was not enough space for the dentist to place permanent crowns ⭐️
.
.
HOW DID WE HELP❓
.
.
Using lingual braces we achieved the following 👊🏻
.
.
▪️ aligned the upper and lower teeth
.
.
▪️opened the bite to create space for the new crowns
.
.
▪️reduced the gap between the upper and lower teeth and corrected the bite using a fixed bite corrector 👌🏻
.
.
We worked closely with his lovely local dentist to achieve this super result 🌟

Let’s talk about “Gum health “ 🤓

This lovely lady has receeding gums and thin gingival biotype so we wanted to ensure;

ONE - that we did not make her gum condition worse by straightening her teeth
.
TWO - that we improved access for hygiene and improved the overall health of the gum tissue
.
.
She had a short course of orthodontic treatment to achieve this fantastic result and she had regular dental hygiene appointments throughout her orthodontic treatment 👊🏻
.
.
No extractions 👊🏻

.
Space was made using dental stripping ✔️
.
.
The teeth were moved into a safe and stable position and the lower incisors roots were torques lingually to improve the gum health ✨
.
.
FIFTEEN months of treatment ( including when the office was closed during the lockdown 🙈)
