Functional Appliances
Functional appliances are orthodontic devices used to modify facial growth and improve the facial profile in growing children. Twin Block appliances are commonly used to encourage lower jaw growth for example where the lower jaw is deficient. They are worn full time for a period of approximately 6- 12 months and and are normally followed by fixed appliances. |
