ABOUT DR O’KEEFFE

CON O' KEEFFE received his Batchelor of Dental Surgery degree in 1980 at University College Cork. He worked for two years in General Dental Practice followed by four years in various posts in Oral and Maxillo- Facial Surgery units in Birmingham, Liverpool and Bolton in the UK . He obtained his post graduate Master’s degree in Orthodontics at the University of Sheffield in 1988 as well the Diploma in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He returned to Ireland and commenced orthodontic practice in Dublin and Waterford in 1989 and in 1992 ceased practice in Dublin to concentrate exclusively in this practice in Waterford. Since graduating as an orthodontist in1988, Dr O KEEFFE has attended numerous courses and mini -residencies in orthodontics and orthognathic surgery worldwide and is currently engaged in a Master's program in Lingual Orthodontics at Hannover University,Germany under the guidance of Dr Dirk Wiechmann who developed the Incognito appliance and Prof Schwestka -Polly who has published widely on this subject. This involves a commitment of two days per month at the Hannover University Dental Hospital attending lectures and treating orthodontic patients with the lingual technique.

DR O’KEEFFE is a founder member of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland and acted as Company Secretary in its formative years. He is currently the Hon President of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland. He is a member of the Specialist Register in Orthodontics of the Dental Council (Registration number 17DS05)and served as President of the South East branch of the Irish Dental Association. DR O KEEFFE has lectured in Ireland and the UK on Non- Extraction Orthodontics. He lives in Waterford with his wife Claire. They have two children.

Our practice uses the most advanced techniques available today with a wide range of options available to produce beautiful smiles.. EARLY TREATMENT in children is recommended with emphasis on NON EXTRACTION techniques to achieve a life long big smile in a fun environment.

The treatment of ADULT patients is a significant part of our practice and we offer a full range of treatment options including the new INVISIBLE INCOGNITO BRACES or Ibraces which are completely discreet and worn on the inside of the teeth as well as clear braces and aligners.

For the more complex cases, jaw surgery in combination with orthodontic treatment may be required and DR O' KEEFFE has numerous examples of surgical orthodontic cases treated with hugely rewarding smiles at the end of treatment.
